That’s not white trash ! Just common sense ! Here in the UK most people cover the car windscreens like this. They use an old sheet or some newspaper .

I agree with Dana: It’s common sense. In the northeast of the USA, you will see this a lot of times. People use blankets, cardboard, tarps, plastic sheeting. Far from a white trash repair. It’s a SMART solution!
