Wire nuts are better than several feet of duct tape on the wires like I found when I changed the stereo on a used car I bought several years ago. It was an unholy mess using mismatched pieces of scrap wire and duct tape.
this could be worse, ive found when vermin get in the engine radio wires are a hapless victim.
A true bubba would’ve used scotch tape.
Ford focus. Uses a weird antenna connector. Bubba didn’t want to buy the adapter, why spend the $6?
Once the radio’s mounted in the car, if the antenna ain’t connected, the radio signal doesn’t get thru the car’s metal body!

At least wire nuts are a legitimate way to join wires. They are over kill for a car radio as far as rating goes.
No, THIS is the difference between “electronics” and an “electrician”.
Actually, the wire nuts are not “overkill”, they’re totally unacceptable. They’ll work, as long as the car is not moving, no vibration etc…. Plus, you just get bad connections, oxidation on the wires etc…. VERY bad choice. Fine for a house, that isn’t MOVING! That has 120V…..
