You have to admit this is pretty darn smart. If you have allergies or you’re asthmatic and hate the was cleaner smells this is great. ” I took a portable aircon outlet pipe and screwed it to my vacuum. With extra packing and tape to seal, those nasty allergens are put straight out the window as I work.”

Are you actually serious? The only thing that PoS will do is leave all that shit and the dirt behind because it wont have any suction at the vacuum head.
Look how big the hose is compared to the vacuum hose–it shouldn’t restrict the airflow that much.
My mother took a different approach: She simply had a very long hose on the vacuum, the unit sat outside. It worked.
We have done better–a central vacuum. The hose is only 25′ long, the rest of the length is handled by pipes in the walls. The power unit is bolted to the wall in the garage. There’s no issue of weight or size, they can make it big enough to do the job right. Not to mention a bucket for the dirt instead of bags.
It doesn’t restrict the airflow at all as the pipe is the same width as the outflow, which pumps far harder than the air conditioner it was designed for. And the pipe can be constricted.
I would imagine a longer suction pipe would reduce efficiency though. And even if it did, alleviation of allergy would be a price worth paying.
It’s a very powerful machine. There is no loss of suction at all.
the central vacuums cost a shitload thou and if you’re having concrete walls – it’s not worth the fuss
This, uh…..sucks.
“and hate the was cleaner smells”
WTF does that even mean?
