i was told if they are built right they can go faster then 80 mph

1) No sign of a drive chain 2) Chainsaw engine would be spinning the wrong direction facing that way
And yes, I knew a guy in high school that built a scooter using a tube frame, go cart tires, and a small chainsaw engine. In a heads up drag race it could easily beat my Honda ATC200 (which did around 90km/h balls out)… mind you, he was half my size and his scooter weighed a third of my ATC.. but I would say for a chainsaw powered bike to go 80mph would not be difficult to build with the right combination of parts–would I wanna be on a bicycle doing 80 on wheels/tires/bearings designed to go 20? Hell no.

Maybe it rubs the tire rather than a drive chain. Just guessing though.
Biff
Chainsaw engine would NOT be spinning the wrong way if it is rubbing the back tire to cause movement.
hans low blow
Actually derek, Biff is right! The guy is more than likely using the botton of the clutch drum or made some type of shaft that mounts off of the drive gear. Either way whatever it is, its sitting on top of the wheel and if this even works to begin with it would make the bike move foward in the position its mounted. Lmao you tried to look smart but just got schooled twice……….

Hans and biff got it. This is a homemade “bike bug”. Had one when I was a kid. My schwinn would go about 35mph. Google it.

I’ve got one of those saws. And if you remove the chain it exposes the gear. Just sit it right down on the tire and away yougo…. yep, this WILL work.
