    You beat me to it Kevbo, reversed polarity. Also, the ground is not connected.

    have had to do that a number of times, the trick is to use a solid number 14 wire about 6 inchs long, strip it back 3/4 of a inch and bend a tight J on that end, then strip and wire nut the other end to the stranded wires. Now it won’t fall out and it is safe to insert and remove from the recpticale. Of course inserting it into the right openings is a plus.

    @kevbo, some outlets are wired backwards, which is dangerous. I’ve run across a few. I hate that.

    in some there is no difference because there are only two cables
    also, I did this when I was like 7

    where I live – only new houses have ground, and most of the plugs dong even have the ground bolt (we don’t have holes) so no one gives a damn about polarity as well
