    It’s just fine as a temporary fix until the wires can be moved over to the new pole. First get people’s power back and then make the permanent changes. If you were the customer down the line, you would appreciate it very much.

    I hope there is only 120/240 on that pole and not high joltage.

    Hitting a power pole hard enough to break it, itself must be quite a jolt.

    I kinda have to defend this one. I used to work for the phone company. That’s what they do until a crew can transfer over the lines at the top. But you have multiple utilities on there. Power, phone, cable tv. So each one has to send a crew out. and CATV is notorious for taking forever to get a crew out to do transfers. So the strap is there to make sure the bottom of the broken pole doesn’t swing out and cause damage or injury below until the transfer is complete.
