Looks like someone took advantage of the plastic door panels on the Saturn to break into it. Has the same thing happen to me, but I replaced the door……

I think the vent hole is so he can reach out and open the door from the outside.

I bet the door pull on the inside is broken so he has to reach outside and pull on the exterior handle to open the door.

So he can run a hose from the exhaust into the cabin and leave the world quietly when the zombies attack.
