I think it would work better mounted a couple feet behind the mower

That should do wonders for the engine, cutting off the airflow for cooling.

Cooling is not a problem it gets its air from the top and sides, but good luck tilting the hood to check the oil.

Should be mounted at an angle off the back. this won’t do much good.

Anyway, better to just chop up the leaves into small bits. They quickly decompose into the lawn that way.

Why not just turn the fricken mower on and mulch the leaves up while you cut the grass?

Really, think snow plow not leaf rake. For whatever reason, the owner is probably trying to push the leaves somewhere out of the way. Maybe to the curb for somebody to come by with a vacuum truck and suck them up.

My only real problem is the wood board is made from pressed sawdust from probably a cheap entertainment center or desk. It won’t hold up long. If it were me, I would have used a chunk of expanded metal grating. I probably would have also trimmed the board so the headlights were functional.

They are SERIOUSLY bolted to that cheap wood. I can’t see this working for much of anything really. Heck, when you rake leaves, you have to rake the same area like two or three times to get them all. This looks more like a pusher than a “raker” or any kind.

Waste of time and effort. He would have been better off getting his fat wife out there doing the raking.
