Upgrading the exhaust pipe and muffler on a 1984 Pontiac Firebird. Had to lift the body up high enough to get the larger pipe over the rear end and sway bar system. So, used three cement blocks and a bottle jack to lift the body. We did have car ramps under the wheels!!! Safety first, LOL!!!
The blocks should have the openings pointing up. Very dangerous in current configuration.

You’re right Clif. No strength in them the way they are being used. That is why these so called strongmen can break them so easily. Look at how a building is constructed. You do not see the inside of the blocks. You can’t fix stupid.

I still get a feeling in the pit of my stomach when I crawl under a car with jack stands, no way in hell I would go under that car.

Ditto on the blocks, but at least he has the ramps under it.

According to “Volkswagen Repair for the Compleat Idiot” (published in the ’60s and a great repair manual) you should NEVER use cinderblocks or bricks to support a car as they can fail suddenly, completely and catastrophically with no warning. they recommend using the wheels/tires under the frame as your safety backup.

The other issue is no chocking at the front wheels. But he’ll learn once he has a car or two fall on him. Of course by then he’ll be in a wheelchair .

He dose not think of his own safety then it is un likely that drives safely. Running a red light, no problem.
