I try to be nice to folks, but that was just idiotic. There’s no accounting for stupid. I daresay the surrounding woods aren’t safe from this lot.

Use diesel not gasoline. You do not want to use any fuel that has a high evaporation rate. All the vapors from the gas were within the spaces between the wood. They kind of duplicated (on a smaller scale) what happens when there is a natural gas leak in or under a house. It all goes at once.

Yeah I always use diesel. And stand well aways from pile and toss bit of cloth soaked in same on a stick to ignite fire.
