The outboard cover is covering the carb because the shaker scoop is missing. Those years of Trans-ams never has turbos. Only the 1980-81 were available with a turbo charged 301 V-8 and were easily distinguished by having a raised hood only on the right side and the word “turbo” written on it…
You might want to try using Google or some other search engine some time… It might not make you smarter but it will keep people from thinking the opposite.
