The problem here is that the windows is made of old, hand-made glass, wich is very thin and not plane. I’ts very hard to find, and expensibe, which might explain why it has been repaired (changing the glass with a new, plane one, will make the window look odd); but that’s true, they could have used transparent tape to fix it !
