I had to undo a porch addition a family made by taking apart approx 50 pallets. They even straightened the nail out for reuse and lap jointed the rails into studs. They planed on covering the tightly spaced slates with wire and stucco. Luckily a neighbor heard all of the racket and decided to investigate. They got sighted for no permit and not using a treated bottom plate. So it all had to torn down and trashed.

permits would have required these fools to turn their pallet 90 degrees so at least there would be some vertical load transfer through the 3 rungs of the pallet frame for support this layout offers no support
