Redneck Home Addition

Nothing like making your home more like a trailer park by using a trailer as an addition.  Win or Fail?

I’m pretty sure the trailer was there first, and not the addition.

I’ve seen it done that way a few times actually. Some leave it like that, and some put siding on it all to match.

That happens a lot in rural areas of Michigan. Although most often you see two trailers put side by side right against each other then the pole barn roof built over them both.

Yep, trailer first. Hardly seems worth it to do all the work and leave the trailer, but sometimes it’s for legal reasons and it has and plumbing.

Stairs seem a little far from the door though.

Here in the south we call that a “trouse”

I have friends who did this. Its pretty much a win. It was cheap, the don’t pay much in taxes since it still hardly counts as a house and if you can believe it they did a great job and its pretty nice inside even if the outside resembles a barn.

There’s a couple of these within a mile of my house. Supposedly it’s been done this way for property tax and legal reasons….. One looks good, the other___can’t say on this site!!!

I think it’s a total win. We have a lot of them in Texas, too. If it’s finished off right, it can look pretty nice.

It looks pretty White Trashy, but I’d have to go with “win”. Crude but effective.

Come over to my neighborhood, my brother just bought a house made by THREE trailers stuck together. It actually looks less redneck than you think.
