“When the batteries went out on my kids’ power wheels, rather than go buy an $80 battery from wal-mart my husband got a bright idea to buy an electric wheelchair battery and wire it in!! We have a 4wheeler but the battery is hidden under the seat, but the John Deere’s hood wouldn’t fit over the battery so my husband did this lol!! On the plus side they run faster and the batteries are gel-celled so if they turn them over, it won’t leak acid!! “

You might want to google “toy tractor fire” before go adding larger batteries to one of these ride on toys. Local boy is lucky to be alive after it caught fire with him on it.

That kid is lucky to have parents that buys him nice toys. We got a little p.o.s. wagon to share between all of us. When l was that age you could count every one of my ribs. So they were kinda stingy with the food too.
My grandpa did something similar with a tractor battery when my Jeep died. I remember it was fine till I tried reverse and things started smoking. After a quick WTR of the wiring, the Jeep worked fine for many years… just no reverse or low gear lol.
