Apparently in Europe patching pot holes with tires is ok.... Good idea or bad idea?

I gotta admit not a bad idea.  Why take up a whole sink to dry dishes when if you simply cut out the bottom of the shelf above the sink...

With larger vehicles this isn't such a bad idea when parking in a garage.
