that’s actually standard procedure when replacing a porch post. no redneck repair here.
it is when that has been holding up the front of the house for months
Based on the sofa on the front porch I’m going to make the following assumptions:
-This is West Virginia -That temp brace will still be there many years from now.
naw its Nebraska
if it had been noted in the description it was like that for several months i wouldn’t have replied as i did.
That is not a a 2×4, that is a 4×4. So that make the person whom posted as stupid as the one that Post-ed.
it was submitted saying 4×4 but I guess this “make” it ok. Check your own post for grammar before you say anything about someone else.
I love how everyone is bitching that its a 4 x 4 and not a 2 x 4. Does it really matter which it is? Its still white trash and bottom line is ITS A PEICE OF FUCKING WOOD PEOPLE!
actually size really matters a lot, a 4X4″ is 3 times stronger (less flex) than a 2X4″ just as important is the board it is resting on imbedded in the soil, it should be a 2X6 minimum with a 2X8 being even better suited
