Put some lacquer on it, anti-skid tape or skateboard tape, and reinforce the underside and it’ll be fine. If you do it correctly by router’n the wood enough to lay in the strips and cut the wood in a curve, sand it, lacquer it…it would actually look good.

He’s already got the non-skid stapled down. As is, those boards will probably out last the truck!
