Zero dollar BBQ smoker barrel

by DebbieWTR

Smart idea Bubba, after all there are lots of dumped barrels in landfills.  You might want to take off the “Hazardous” sticker first, the neighbors might freak!

That picture caption just sounds retarded. You can buy brand new barrels for very cheap. They’re not all “oil” barrels, nor are they old used ones. If fact, you can buy brand new ones rated for food/water storage. Grains, dried rice/corn, pasta noodles, drinking water etc can be stored in these type of barrels.

The only possible concern I’d have about using a food storage barrel for this, is if they emit an chemicals or peel any material after being heated. But I’m sure asking the company selling the barrels or calling the manufacturer would answer those concerns.

eh, thinking if you think this is “redneck”, you might want to pay more attention to what the commercial smokers and cookers are made of…i’ve seen cookers built out of old fuel storage tanks, propane tanks, even hot water heaters…and if you build a fire in them before you use them, most any are safe to use for cooking after a good cleaning …you might not want to eat at a BBQ cook-off if this looks too “red-neck” for you ….but this cooker could be the result of a more northern redneck wannabe, too ..we build ’em better in the south

I’ve built two of these contraptions for oil field companies. For the time and money spent building these pieces of crap I could buy a nice stainless steel gas grill and be safe at the same time.
I don’t have time to fire up charcoal. I like turning on the gas and lighting it up. I want my stakes grilled now.

    @ Mikey

You’re an idiot. Simply slapping a picture of a homemade grill on the internet and implying some redneck made it out of toxic waste barrels he found at the dump doesn’t make it true. But why am I explaining anything to an eight year old moron?
