It may be tacky but, doesn’t look like it’s in the U.S. Only potential problem I see is the exposed wire. I would have mounted it on the wall and run the wire in conduit.

There’s no exposed wire here. If those metal boxes are connected to the ground wire in those Romexes, this is pretty safe, even though it’s tacky, and probably violating the electrical code.

Yes, this is in the US. No, unshielded romex is for sure against code. I highly doubt that those are dust-proof receptacles, which they should be (by code) since they are facing straight up. Those appear to be standard 120v 15/20A single receptacles. Keep hitting the romex with a vacuum cleaner and see how long the romex insulation lasts. The romex should be in some form of raceway by code.

Fire waiting to happen — no dust covers; improper mounting [need to be recessed INTO the floor]. If they were mounted so that the outlets were facing out and they rerouted the wire through the rear of the box — they MIGHT pass, but I doubt it.

20 AMP service plug for high power usage machines like AC’s cleaners, etc. not too common of a plug anymore. would be legal if it was shielded cable
