Appears to me it’s a hatchback and it must not be latching. Hence the duct tape to hold it closed.
I know exactly where this is. It is the Union Terminal in Cincinnati Ohio in the background. I pass it everyday!
Some thief used a slide hammer to pull out the hatch lock.
