    i use to live in missouri, and a lot of vehicles would have guards on them because of the deer. but, if i remember correctly, they were a lot thicker and sturdier than these look.

    In west Texas they do this often. It is for going through “bump gates” where you use the bumper to open them and rush through. some of them are very heavy. This protects the few cars with them, but mostly on Pickup trucks.

    P.S. They are also guards for the many small dear in those neck of the woods. You would drive 70mph and push them out of the way. When I lived there they told me it was not IF you was going to hit a deer but WHEN. The 8 years I was there I hit two and yes my truck had one of these guards on it!
