The bacon is to disguise the fact that you cooked your hotdogs on a rake, with the bacon you don't taste the rake yummies.

This was the camp out that Little Bubba Jr earned his Redneck Badge in Boy Scouts for cooking the hot dogs up with rake.

I understand wanting a smooth ground but this is a little odd don't you think?

I guess if you had a country kitchen this could be cute but I hope the rake wasn't a used one.
