Ok, I give up. What is it and what is it replacing? I couldn’t find the answer in the Enquirer. Please answer for us non-rednecks.

I think its the over flow for the radiator

I’d say an overflow bottle for the radiator. Or what is commonly known as a ‘puke can’. Most are made of metal, but fitted to the end of a vent on a diff or transmission. They’re great for water crossings.

Yes it is an overflow for a radiator… used in a pinch and can not find one cheap enough to replace it
